Züsman Bernstein (“Zus”), a German Jew and an honorable tavern keeper, could never have imagined he would get caught up in the shadow-world of espionage and deception. But, carried along by a tide of events far beyond
his control, Zus is now called upon to make decisions of tremendous courage in a time of utter terror. Bad turns to worse when Zus becomes the prime suspect in a murder case, and the Americans begin to believe he might be a triple agent after all...
