L’chatchila (EP)
Melech Elyon - Hershy Weinberger | מלך עליון - הערשי וויינבערגער
While visiting the kever of the holy Sanzer Rav on his yahrtzeit, a close friend of mine called to share a powerful quote he found from the Rav’s son-in-law, the Hornsteipler Rav. Inspired by those sacred words, I immediately sat down to give them a tune. "Hashem," writes the Rav, "You want to reign over a flourishing and prosperous people, not the opposite. Shower us with goodness and livelihood, so that You may truly be a Melech Elyon, a King of the exalted, to us, and not a Melech Evyon, a king of the destitute." This powerful message reminds us that Hashem’s ultimate desire is to bentch us with abundance. May we all be zoche to His endless brachos!
L’chatchila Ariber - Hershy Weinberger | לכתחילה אריבער - הערשי וויינבערגער
"L’chatchila Ariber" is a teaching from the Rebbe Maharash, Rabbi Shmuel of Lubavitch, where he encourages facing challenges by going straight over them instead of trying to find a way around. The idea is to be bold and take action right away, not letting obstacles hold you back. It's about believing that, no matter the difficulty, you can rise above it.
I relate to this deeply, especially in my music. Sometimes perfection becomes a stumbling block—whether it's in production, writing, or vocals that don't necessarily come out the way I imagined. In those moments, I try to remind myself of "L’chatchila Ariber" and push forward, knowing that I can jump over these perceived obstacles. Often, what we criticize ourselves for is already someone else's "L’chatchila," their idea of something extraordinary.
Divrei Hashem - Hershy Weinberger (ft. Chaim Horowitz) | דברי ה׳ - הערשי וויינבערגער וחיים הורוויץ
In an upside-down world, where things seem chaotic and uncertain, we’ve seen things turn right side up as more people search for deeper meaning. There’s a growing wave of neshamos longing to get closer to Hashem, driven by a hunger and thirst not for bread or water, but for something far greater—a desire to know Hashem and His ways.
